Good morning NCRG members, friends and fans! We had a great meeting this morning with high attendance numbers. Thank you to all who joined us, and welcome to our newest member Tom Holopainen of T. A. Holopainen, who provides Title V inspections, septic services and various other general contractor services. We look forward to networking with you!
Our meeting this morning featured a presentation from Gia Milazzo-Smith of Designs by Gia, who always shows off her work in a fabulous slideshow. Today Gia showed us her Cannon Forge project where she updated the kitchen, dining area and bathroom of a very dated condo. She showed us the 2D and 3D floor plans and elevations that she created for her client, to give them the best idea of how the project would look after completion. She designed a new color scheme and layout and helped her clients choose new appliances and furniture for the space. Truly “bringing your style to life”!
We also heard from John Goan of Lawton Electric, who spoke about various projects he has worked on, including an intriguing off-the-grid home that operated off solar electricity, gas generators and more. He also brought several items for show-and-tell, including a 45 degree drill extender and a cable testing device that he recently used to help hardwire a computer network into a home. He showed us what knob-and-tube equipment looks like, and explained the dangers in using them. He also showed us an Accustat thermostat that allows someone to set a fixed temperature for a home or building. Talk to John about any of your electrical needs!
All interested small business owners in the area are encouraged to contact us to find out more about our group! We are looking forward to meeting you.
Join us next week, 7 AM on Wednesday morning, same place as always. We will be enjoying presentations from Dan Gariepy a.k.a. Handyman Dan and then we will most likely split into small groups for more personal conversations about how we can help each other succeed in business.
